This on-line archive contains a complete bibliography of these cited materials and provides digitized versions of items which most fully illustrate the historical experience of the blackouts.

Archival materials are organized into four categories: the Great Northeast blackout of 1965; the New York Blackout of 1977; the electric utility industry and the use of electric power; and hypertext links to other web sites germane to this project.

Access to these materials is provided for educational purposes. Each volume within the Blackout archive has been presented in a fashion intended to approximate, within the uncharted realm of the internet, guidelines already established for fair use of print media.
